How RateTopic researches, scores, and corrects reviews
Our goal is to answer a specific decision: which tool fits a particular reader, workflow, budget, and privacy tolerance? This page explains what evidence we use, what a score means, how we handle products connected to our publisher, and how to request a correction.

Who operates RateTopic
RateTopic is operated by MobileUps, an Android software publisher. That relationship is relevant because RateTopic also covers several MobileUps products. We label those pages as unscored publisher-owned product guides with a prominent disclosure, not as independent third-party reviews or endorsements.
The disclosed MobileUps products currently covered are Document Reader, AnyPDF, Flash Alerts Ultimate, LocalMind, Sokoban Puzzle Master, Block Blast Ultimate, and Tower Stack Classic.
Our evidence standard
A review can draw from several kinds of evidence. The article should make clear which evidence supports its conclusions, especially when a claim could affect a purchase, subscription, privacy decision, or security choice.
- Product evidence: observed workflows, screenshots, settings, limitations, and behavior in the product version evaluated.
- Primary documentation: official pricing pages, help centers, security papers, audit reports, privacy policies, and release notes.
- Comparable scenarios: the same task, file, decision criteria, or feature checklist applied to competing products.
- Editorial judgment: our conclusion about usability, value, or fit. Judgment is identified as opinion and should not be presented as a vendor fact.
We do not use a universal “two weeks” claim for every product. A password manager, AI assistant, note app, utility, and casual game require different checks. Each page is expected to describe the scenarios that materially affected its conclusion.
How scores work
Scores are RateTopic editorial scores on a 10-point scale and apply only to third-party reviews. Publisher-owned product guides are not scored. Scores are not copied from Google Play, the App Store, or another review site.

A high score does not mean a product is right for everyone. The “who should use it” and “who should skip it” sections matter more than small differences between two scores.
Comparisons
Comparison pages use the same criteria for each product. We avoid declaring a universal winner when the evidence supports different choices for different users. Prices, plan names, and privacy terms can change, so comparison articles include an update date and source links.
Publisher, affiliate, and advertising rules
- MobileUps ownership is disclosed on every article about a MobileUps product.
- We do not accept payment in exchange for a positive score or guaranteed conclusion.
- A vendor may point out a factual error but does not approve the final article.
- If a link earns a commission, that relationship must be disclosed near the link or in the article disclosure. Commission does not change the score.
- Advertising is visually separated from editorial content. Empty ad placeholders are not published as content.
Automation and AI-assisted drafting
Software may assist with research organization, outlines, grammar, or formatting. Automatically generated pages are not eligible for publication. Before a page is indexable, a human editor must select the topic, review the complete copy, verify the important links and claims, remove unsupported language, and confirm that the page adds a useful decision framework rather than repeating a product description.
Unreviewed and template-generated records are excluded from the public article lists, search results, feeds, sitemap, and article routes.
Updates and corrections
We revisit articles when a major price, plan, ownership, privacy, security, or feature change could alter the recommendation. Minor copy edits may not receive a separate note; a material change should update the page date and the affected conclusion.
To report an error, use the corrections page or email hello@ratetopic.com. Please include the page URL, the sentence in question, and a primary source when possible. We review correction requests on their merits regardless of whether they come from a reader, developer, or vendor.
